  It depends what job you do and how much experience you have but nurses tend to start on £22000 per year.

  Hi, Julie here. All nhs staff except doctors are in bands, under something called agenda for change. A newly qualified nurse will start at band 5 on about 22000 and a director will be a band 9. I’m a band 8a which is a senior management role and I’m on about 45000. Google agenda for change and it will show you all the different bands.

  Richard It varies on experience most therapists are on band seven (agenda for change) so can earn up to 40K a year in they are full time, you get more for management roles.

  It’s enough to have a reasonably nice life. I’ve been brought up not to put too much stock on material things. The main driver of being a doctor is to help others and that is the biggest reward.
