I had been part of a team which has helped to save several lives, it makes you realise how important each persons role is in that moment and how you can make a difference for someone.

Hi, Julie here. I would like to think as a team we have saved several lives. Sometimes saving lives is more about giving someone cpr in an emergency situation, it can be about working with them through a depressive episode when they are suicidal. I honestly believe that we make a difference as a team x

Sometimes you have no idea what effect you’ve had on someone’s survival until months or years after.

Richard: I don’t know, perhaps indirectly I suppose, as a lot of the people we see are often suicidal.

There have been many who said they have been suicidal and I with the team have helped them get better. There may be other times where I may have helped them who may have gone onto kill themselves but hadn’t said. In my training I did life support and helped others when they have gone into heart failure.
